Australia is estimated to have the largest nickel reserves in the world, with Western Australia (WA) being the sole nickel producer since the 90’s. Nickel is primarily used in stainless steel production, however is also a crucial element in batteries, alloys, coatings, and chemical catalysts. Carnac's team has a wealth of experience in the mining and processing of nickel in WA.
Carnac undertook detailed engineering design and drafting services for the refurbishment of a sulphur melting pit.
Carnac were engaged to perform a review of as-built drawings for a dewatering piping system at a nickel refinery. The aim of the assignment was to confirm that the as-built drawings were suitable for the installation of new pipework.
Carnac were engaged to provide shop detail drawings in order for the fabrication of a new hopper and support for sulphur reclaim at a nickel refinery.
