Alumina Refinery Framing Study

Solution Provided | Evaluated the refinery technical capability and developed opportunities for capacity upgrades

Discipline | Process Engineering

Carnac – Project Delivery Services Pty Ltd (Carnac) was engaged to conduct a framing study for an Alumina Refinery to outline the ideas and opportunities to achieve a low cost per tonne shift in production that can be evaluated at concept phase.

The intent of the study was to re-define the maximum technical capability of the refinery and identify any gaps in capacity and reliability constraints. The client was engaged to validate constraint findings and options were generated to resolve the constraints. An evaluation criterion was established for each option to create a recommendation concept study pathway, including approach, timeframe and resource requirements.

Recommendations were made to proceed with the concept study for the most favourable opportunities.
