Solution Provided | Process Engineering Support for Feasibility Study (FS)
Disciplines | Process Engineering
Carnac Project Delivery Services (Carnac) was engaged by the client to provide Process Engineering support for the FS of a novel Waste Water Neutralisation process.
Carnac’s Scope of Work (SOW) included:
Review and assessment of previous studies and testwork;
Site assessment;
Preliminary Options Studies to confirm that the correct FS solution has been selected;
Development of a SysCAD model for the proposed FS neutralisation process;
Development of the Process Design Criteria (PDC);
Development of the process Mass Balance;
Development of a Block Flow Diagram (BFD);
Development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs);
Development of the Facility Functional Description (FFD);
Development of the Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs); and
Development of strategies to optimise seawater pumping costs.
By assessing the testwork previously carried by the client, Carnac found opportunities to improve as well as de-risk the process. Carnac were able to take the results from the testwork, develop a SysCAD model, and produce the FS deliverables required to implement the solution.
Carnac also looked for opportunities to utilise existing redundant equipment at the Client’s site in order to significantly reduce the Capital cost to implement the Wate Water Neutralisation process.
